How does the DLP registration process work?

Student registration takes place on www.gafta.com/distance-learning-programme. Students who register for all six modules at once will receive separate instructions on how to access their first course.

How do I access the DLP learning materials?

Once your registration is confirmed, you will be sent a confirmation with a link to the online learning platform. You will be given a username and password which you must keep safe.

What do I have to do to pass the DLP?

There are a number of assignments within each module and students must pass all of these in order to gain a certificate for the module. Students who pass all 6 modules will get a final programme completion certificate which can be used in applications for the Trade Diploma.

How often do the DLP modules run?

There are 3 ‘semesters’ in each year – January, April and March. All 6 modules run in each semester.

How long is each DLP module?

Each module take approximately 12 weeks to complete. Assignment deadlines are at intervals throughout the 12 weeks.

Can I take more than one DLP module at a time?

Yes, although we do not recommend doing this alongside full-time work as the learning and assignment workload for each module is a significant commitment.

What language is the DLP course in?

The DLP is only available in English.

Can I access the DLP materials on my phone?

Yes, but currently the platform will not work without a wifi connection or mobile data enabled.

Can I do some DLP modules and some face-to-face GDP courses and still take the Trade Diploma if I pass them all?

No, the DLP and GDP programmes are separate routes to the Trade Diploma. Each are specifically tailored to work as a complete programme of learning and although the content is the same overall, modules and courses are structured so differently that they are not interchangeable.

Do I have to take all 6 DLP modules?

No, students can take any number of the modules.

Do I have to do the DLP modules in numerical order?

We strongly recommend that students start with Module 1 and work their way through the programme in numerical order, however this is not mandatory. If desired, students can take the modules in any order, but must bear in mind that content is designed to flow from one module to the next. This will not affect student certification or permission to take the Trade Diploma.

How long do I have to complete all 6 DLP modules?

There is no time limit on completion of the full DLP programme. The majority of DLP students take 2 – 3 years to complete the programme.

Once your registration is confirmed, you will be sent a confirmation with a link to the Agribility platform. You will be given a username and password which you must keep safe.

What do I have to do to pass the short course modules?

There is a multiple choice question assignment at the end of the module. You need to achieve 80% to pass. You will have 3 chances to pass.

How long is each short course module?

Each module take approximately 30 minutes.

Can I take more than one short course module at a time?

Yes, you can purchase as many modules as you like.

What language are the short course modules in?
