GTAS is a suite of standards in seven separate manuals. You choose one or more of the manuals that are applicable to your business.

SCHEME MANUAL

The Scheme Manual applies to all certifications. It includes the Gafta International Standard of Best Trade Practice, scheme protocols and explains the audit and certification process.

ANALYSIS AND TESTING

The Code of Practice for facilities testing the quality and condition of goods for general purposes at intake laboratory/testing facilities as used at stores, elevators, silos etc. The code aims to establish uniform standards and best practice for analysis throughout the supply chain.

FUMIGATION AND PEST CONTROL

SUPERVISION, SAMPLING AND WEIGHING

A code of practice for Superintendents and Surveying companies is provided for supervision operations covering sampling and weighing, load compartment inspections etc.

Certification under GTAS is one way to meet the requirements of the Gafta Superintendents Code of Practice that requires compliance with a recognized quality management system. 

TRADING AND MERCHANTING

This code of best practice comprises a set of minimum standards for companies and individuals operating as Traders or Merchants who trade and handle grain and feed (including exports and imports) including transport by sea, waterway and rail. Reference is made to contract negotiation and guidance is given on recall/withdrawal of goods and the Gafta Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Services. This manual also covers Brokerage companies wishing to obtain certification under the scheme. 

PLEASE NOTE: Certification for compliance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive will expire in June 2019.
