GTAS Bulk Storage & Handling and GTAS Transport of Goods by Road

In July 2017 Gafta announced plans to develop and rebrand its Trade Assurance offering with the aim of closer alignment with Gafta Contracts and striving to raise the international standards for the fumigation, analysis and supervision of agricultural commodity trade.

 An 18 month plan has been put in place to enable members of these schemes an adequate transition period:

  • Until 31 December 2017 all members will be able to renew as normal.
  • From 1 January 2018 members will be unable to renew their GTAS membership and will need to transfer to an alternative scheme. No new members will be able to join the scheme from this date.
  • From 1 January 2019 the GTAS Bulk Handling and Storage and GTAS Transport of Goods by Road modules will no longer exist.
