IMSBC code and carriage of seedcake - New Testing Requirements for Seed Cakes

On 1st January 2021, the new International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) code will enter into force.  The new Code brings mandatory changes to the seedcake entries and will affect how we transport soybean meal, rapeseed meal, cotton seed meal and sunflower seed meal. The agri-bulk trade will need to carry out a self-heat test according to the UN Method N4.  This is a new requirement which the trade did not previously have to do.

In order to provide support to members in meeting these new requirements, Gafta has compiled a list of all Gafta Approved Analysts who are able to carry out this self-heating test (UN Method N4):

For more information regarding the changes to the IMSBC Code please see the November 2020 edition of GaftaWorld magazine: www.gafta.com/gaftaworld

If your laboratory facility is able to offer this test, and would like to be listed, please send your details, including your Gafta Laboratory number, to ApprovedRegisters@gafta.com
