Commodity Shipping Course Odessa, 23-24 May 2017

GPD Commodity Shipping Course set over 2 days in Odessa, Ukraine. The context of the course is to outline that while the sale of goods contract lies at the heart of international trade, the wider international trade picture is one of many contracts, linked to each other by virtue of the sale contract having been formed.

An overview of the entire contractual picture helps us to understand the policy issues that frequently arise in English commercial law. In looking at the matrix of contracts at this stage, we are not dealing in depth with the many legal issues that arise. Our concern for the purpose of the course is to look at the particular features of each contract which cause that contract to be linked to others within the matrix.

This two day course will cover a range of shipping contractual issues, including:

Bills of Lading
Gafta terms related to Bills of Lading
Charterparties (Time and Voyage)
Freight
Demurrage
Laytime
