Gafta is committed to protecting and maintaining your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out the procedures Gafta has in place in relation to the collection, use and disclosure of information you may provide or we may collect from the website.

What information do we collect?
We collect information about your visits to, and your use of, this website, as follows:

  • Information about any transactions carried out between you and us on or in relation to this website, including information relating to any purchases you make of goods or services
  • Information that you provide to us for registering with us and/or subscribing to our website services and/or email notifications. This may include us occasionally sending you information from third parties (we would not provide your details to these third parties)
  • Information that you provide to us for the purposes of registering for and/or attending any Gafta or Gafta sponsored event including, without limitation, seminars, training courses and functions
  • Information that you provide to us when submitting a Gafta membership application form for the purposes of being a Gafta member, or contact of a Gafta member.

Member Application information
Applicant information provided on the member application forms is held in our membership database. Applicant information, including the name of the main contact, as provided on the application form, is communicated to our Council for the purpose of electing the applicant into membership.

Membership Directory
Once an applicant has been elected into membership, the member information provided on the application is made available on our website Membership Directory, including key contact details as provided on the application form. NB. details entered under the Managing Director/Chief Executive and Person Responsible for Personnel/Training will not appear in the Directory, but are used for internal administration purposes. The Membership Directory is available only to Gafta Members, via logging into member only content on our website.

Email Communications
Gafta issues regular communications to Members by email, including information on trade policy matters, Gafta training courses and events. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time, using the Unsubscribe Me link in the emails.

Gaftaworld
New member details are published in our bi-monthly member magazine, Gaftaworld, to announce the new memberships to the whole Gafta membership. The details include the name and email address of the main contact as provided on the application form.

Use of information collected
Personal data submitted on this website will be used for the purposes specified above.

In addition to the uses identified in this Privacy Policy, we may use your personal information to:

  • Improve your browsing experience by personalising the website
  • Where we believe there is a legitimate business interest to do so, circulate your and/or your company’s name and contact details (including email addresses) to attendees, sponsors, course tutors at any Gafta or Gafta sponsored event, including, without limitation, seminars, training courses and functions

Sharing of information
We do not and will not share your data with any third party service providers unless specifically indicated or requested as part of the service we are providing to you, such as conference bookings including hotel reservations. In such circumstances, these service providers will only have access to the personal information needed to perform the relevant service and may not use your personal information for any other purpose. They will also be required to use your personal information strictly in accordance with data protection laws, including maintaining adequate security measures to protect such personal information.

Security
We take the security of your data very seriously. We employ physical, electronic and administrative security measures to protect the information that we collect about you from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage.
