Special rates and discounts
Member/non-member pricing
Only delegates who are members of Gafta are eligible for member discounts for training or events, regardless of the status of the booker or bill payer. Should a non-member be mistakenly awarded the member rate, the invoice will be re-issued at the non-member rate and payment for the difference will be required before registration is accepted. Gafta reserves the right to charge the non-member rate should we discover another member's account has been used to make a booking for a non-member.
Earlybird/dated discounts
Payment must be received on or before the expiration date for that rate. After the deadline, your invoice will be amended to the full rate.
Price changes
The price payable will be as quoted on the website at the time you place your order or book/register for an event. If you subsequently amend your order or change your booking, the price will be amended as applicable at the time the amendment is confirmed.

Additional Gafta Professional Development (GPD) terms
Students are allowed 2 attempts to pass the final course exam in order to attain a certificate.
Failure of both these attempts results in a failure of the course. Students will have to re-book and pay for another course date in order to try again.
Students found to have plagiarised any part of their exam paper, or copied answers from another student will receive an automatic failing grade.
Additional Distance Learning Programme (DLP) terms
Please see this page for a full list of rules for the DLP. By agreeing to these terms, you agree to abide by these rules: Rules
- Access to your modules will be given once full payment has been received
- Access to the DLP learning materials for each module is granted for the duration of the module, with an additional 2 weeks read-only access to allow students to view their feedback. Access is then terminated after this time
- The module fee covers access to the content for the duration of the module, up until the final assignment has been marked and grades have been awarded
- Your license gives you access for the duration of the module, up until the final assignment has been marked and grades have been awarded (approx. 2 weeks following the module end date). After this, your access to the module will be disabled.
- Payment for registrations must be made prior to or within 5 days of the module start date otherwise the registration will be cancelled, and the student will need to rebook for the next semester
- Students will be issued access and instructions to the module they have registered for after full payment has been received by Gafta. These must not be shared: sharing will lead to suspension of access and possible disqualification with no refunds
- Students agree not to share their login details with any other individual
Assignments and Extensions
- Students who sign up for the DLP are expected to manage their own time and meet all deadlines
- Extensions are only considered if a request has been received in advance of the deadline, in writing. They are granted on a case-by-case basis and only in exceptional circumstances
Late fees and failures
- If a student fails their written assignment, they are allowed one chance to re-submit, as long as it is within five days of receiving the tutor feedback
- Late submissions are not considered unless an extension has been agreed with Gafta in advance of the deadline (see above). Students who miss the 5-day deadline for resubmission have an opportunity to request late assignment marking, if they notify Gafta within a reasonable period of the missed deadline
- Any subsequent failures mean that the student must re-take the entire module at the full fee
- What if I submit my assignment late (without an agreed extension)? A fee applies to every late submission. A late submission is:
- Any final written assignment submitted after the module deadline without an extension being granted
- A re-submission that has been uploaded to the platform more than 5 days after the tutor has published their feedback on a student’s assignment without an extension being granted
- Any assignment submitted after the extension deadline has passed
Late submission fees:
- 1st assignment: £250+VAT
- Resubmission: £150 +VAT
Assignments submitted more than 8 weeks after the module deadline will not be considered, unless agreed in advance by Gafta.
Plagiarism
Any student who is found to have plagiarised their work will receive an automatic failing grade for that module. If an original piece of work is re-submitted within 48 hours, then this will be considered and marked by the course tutor. Students who repeatedly plagiarise their assignments may have their course access revoked. No refunds will be issued in this case, and if your employer has paid they will need to be informed.
Right of cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel or amend an event for any reason (including, but not limited to, any matter arising from or out of Covid 19). Should we have to do so, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as is reasonably possible.
In the event Gafta has to cancel an event, we reserve the right to transfer your registration fee to the next available event of your choice. Credits must be used within 2 years of issue, in the event that they are not used, Gafta reserves the right to retain the full fee.
Our maximum liability to you will be limited to the total price that you have paid to Gafta for the event and you are strongly recommended to take out suitable insurance cover.
Behaviour
Gafta reserves the right to remove a delegate from a Gafta event (including online training) and/or decline any future bookings should, in Gafta’s reasonable opinion, the delegate’s behaviour be inappropriate.
The Grain Industry is a warm and welcoming sector. Public displays of affectionate greeting are normal. However, not all cultures, or indeed individuals, welcome physical contact of this kind. All attendees at Gafta events are politely reminded to behave considerately.
Complaints of unwanted touching from other attendees, Gafta members and Gafta staff will be taken seriously.
