For information - EU sampling and analysis for pesticides residues for official controls - to apply from 1st January 2027
The EU Commission regulation 765/2026 on methods of sampling and analysis and on the interpretation of results for official controls of pesticide residues in food and feed is published.
This regulation will enter into force on 1st January 2027 and replaces Directive 2002/63.
The aim is to update legislation considering best practices in the field of pesticide residues in and on products of plant and animal origin as Directive 2002/63 is outdated.
The rules on analysis, the measurement of uncertainty and interpretation of results are also included in this regulation – see Part C.
Provisions on sampling are updated - see Annex A and B.
