The July edition of Gaftaworld is now available on the Gafta website. This reports on a busy few months for Gafta, with the Director General, Gafta Counsel and Head of Policy presenting at various events including GrainCom, during which a successful Gafta seminar was held, Commodity Trading Week Europe, the ISF World Seed Congress and Pulses 26.
London Grains Week was another huge success, and we report on the various activities held by the four sponsors during that week, with the industry’s focus on technological innovation and food security.
For Gafta, the highlight was the Annual Dinner held on 10 June, attended by over 500 guests who celebrated the trade’s rich heritage while addressing modern logistic challenges. Economic forecasts from AgResource Company and updates from the World Food Programme emphasise a tightening global supply chain and the critical role of private sector partnerships in mitigating hunger.
We are also grateful to Pavlo Lebediev and Andrii Tantsiura of AGA Partners, who, in their article on page 2, examine the legal complexities of CIF contracts and the shifting risk allocations necessitated by international disruptions.
