Please note that the European Commission has adopted yesterday a proposal to modify tariffs on agricultural products and fertilisers from Russia and Belarus, supplementary to previous list from last year. Proposals have been presented to the EU Parliament and Council for approval. The purpose is to increase the customs duties applicable to imports in certain agricutltural products.
Annex 1 includes agri products: peas, chickpeas, oats, rice, triticale, products flour, brans, oilcake (please refer to the complete list).
Proposal states Annex 1 products shall be subject to an additional 50% ad valorem tariff customs duty that shall apply in addition to common customs tariff and shall not be eligible for any tariff rate quota. Regulation will apply four weeks after entry into force for Annex 1 products.
Annex 2 is relating to the chemical, fertilisers, nitrogen with phase in period for duties over 3 years – see details in draft reg.
