Dear Members,

Deltamethrin remains an important insecticide used by Gafta members. As mentioned in previous circulars, the active substance “Deltamethrin” is up for renewal in the EU in 2026. Together with the pesticide manufacturers and the value chain a file is being prepared to support maintaining the substance for grain storage.  Gafta remains part of this advocacy group and we have participated in a survey last summer.

We are now sharing the executive summary of the document “Agronomic Socio-Economic Analysis (ASEA) on the renewal of Deltamethrin under the EU Plant Protection Products Regulation focusing on the use of stored grains” which has been prepared to show the magnitude of the impact of the loss of deltamethrin.
