Following on from our previous circular GN/2025/013, the Minister for the Economy announced yesterday the extension of the temporary reduction of export taxes on wheat and barley. This temporary reduction is valid until 31st March 2026. Export duties on wheat and barley had been reduced at the end of January untl 30th June of this year. See GN/2025/013. It should be noted that this measure will not apply to soybeans, corn, sunflowers, sorghum, and all their byproducts, whose export duties will return to January values.

As a reminder export tax rates effective 1st July 2025 are summarised as follows:
- Wheat: maintained at 9.5% (until March 31st, 2026)
- Barley: maintained at 9.5% (until March 31st, 2026)
- Soybeans: from 26.0% to 33.0%
- Soybean derivatives (oil and meal): from 24.5% to 31.0%
- Sorghum: from 9.5% to 12.0%
- Corn: from 9.5% to 12.0%
- Sunflower: from 5.5% to 7.0%
