Gaftaworld – February 2026 edition
The February 2026 edition of Gaftaworld (with a new design) is now up on Gafta’s website. We are pleased to introduce the new Gafta President, Brian Arnold, and the new Gafta Deputy President David Vilà i Bajona. Both have extensive and successful experience in the international trade and bring a wealth of knowledge to the Gafta Executive. We are also extremely grateful to the outgoing President, Paul Harrison, who worked tirelessly for the Association during 2025, and his contribution to the success of Gafta last year was acknowledged by all at the Gafta AGM in January.
We are also very grateful to our southern hemisphere contributors, all of whom have sent in comprehensive reports on their harvests and market outlooks: Ezequiel Hajnal (Agrosud SA) in Argentina, Philip Hughes (Bunge) in Australia, Jean Carlo Budziak (ANEC) and Daniel Furlan Amaral (ABIOVE) in Brazil and André van der Vyver and Juan-Pierre Kotze (SACOTA) in South Africa. It has been an exceptional year for yields in all these countries, as discussed in the articles.
