EU will now proceed with provisional application of the Mercosur Agreement

The EU Commission’s President has announced this morning that the EU will now proceed with provisional application of the EU Mercosur Trade Agreement. Please see EU official Decision 185/2026 published in today's official journal. EU Council Decision - EU - 2026/185 - EN - EUR-Lex

This follows yesterday’s decision by Uruguay and Argentina to become the first Mercosur countries to ratify the Agreement. Brazil and Paraguay are expected to follow soon.
