The EU Commission is holding a dialogue on import controls and Gafta will be represented by Celcaa the EU umbrella for agri food trade in a meeting  on 9 December. 

There are three areas of questions and your feedback from grains sector would be appreciated:

·         State-of-play

1.      What main challenges do you encounter in the implementation of EU rules on import controls?

·         Way forward

1.      What solutions could you envisage to overcome these challenges, while still maintaining a high level of animal health and welfare/plant health and food/feed safety?

2.      How can innovation/new technologies reduce administrative burden, simplify procedures, increase efficiency and contribute to greater competitiveness?
