Exports from Brazil to Indonesia – follow up on lab approval
Following on from earlier emails, the Indonesian Quarantine Authority has sent a letter to MAPA a letter on 10th February agreeing to proceed with the renewal of the previously registered laboratories mentioned as complying with Indonesia’s food safety regulations.
They have conveyed the agreement to renew previously registered labs for wheat, maize, mung bean, soybean pepper, coffee, peanuts and grapes.
However, Brazil can only export grapes and peanuts when all technical requirements have been fulfilled and field verification visit.
Two of the Labs have yet to provide methods for validation results for fipronil testing on barley and wheat and shall not be permitted to authorise any certificates of analysis for export of barley or wheat to Indonesia until the information is provided.
ANEC are in discussions with MAPA and the Brazilian labs to provide the letter of commitment for all products as requested by IAQ to finalise the process. The labs have been requested to provide this letter and we are awaiting lab response today.
