Laytime scenarios

This module provides five laytime scenarios. Each scenario provides the background and the facts. Questions follow and a full discussion with answers are provided. This module provides practical scenarios and solutions. Elements of the scenarios focus on; Notice of Readiness (and the validity of a NOR), when laytime starts counting, demurrage and despatch calculations, and best practice.

At the end of this module, the learner should be able to:

• Understand and explain key terms associated with laytime
• Confidently perform a laytime calculation
• Explain how and why particular factors may interrupt laytime
• Identify and discuss the options available to parties in common situations
• Understand how laytime works in practice
