    Overview of topics:

    -          Understanding a transaction as a whole

    -          Why are Gafta contracts based on English law?

    -          How is a contract formed?

    -          Understanding contractual risks and how to avoid them

    -          The most common charterparties and how they work

    -          Laytime and demurrage - how they’re calculated, notice of readiness and what to look for in your Gafta contract?

    -          Payment terms – who pays what? And when?

    -          Exceptional circumstances that can affect your transaction

    • At the end of the course is an online, open book exam, you have up to 1 hour to complete. If you pass, you’ll get a certificate.
    • Students must pas the exam in order to gain a certificate
    • The pass grade is 65%
    • Results are sent 2 weeks after the course closes
    • Failing students will be allowed 1 x retake within a specified timeframe
    • Students discovered conferring during the exam, or papers received which are identified as copies will receive an automatic failing grade
