Council Elections

GAFTA COUNCIL ELECTION

The Gafta Council called for candidates to fill four vacancies on the Council, to replace retiring Council members: Rebecca Jones, Sorin Albeanu, Nicole Bavaud, Luc de Villele.

There are eleven candidates in total, whose details are on the attached information sheet, and ballot form.

Members in the following categories of membership have voting rights:

(A) Trading principals in agricultural commodities and general produce

(B) Brokers who do not trade as principals

(C) Superintendent and Surveyor Members

(D) Individual Qualified Arbitrator and Individual Qualified Mediator Members

(E) Individuals engaged or who have been engaged in the trade

(F) Analysts

(G) Professional Firms

(H) Branches of Members

(J) Fumigators

(K) Trading principals in spices and general produce

1. The form must be signed by an authorised person of the Gafta Member. There is only 1 ballot form per Member. A company that is a Member in more than one category may vote once for each category of membership (e.g. Superintendent and Analyst and Fumigator), using a separate form for each membership
2. Completed ballot papers must be received by the Association by close of business (1700 UK time) on Monday 5 January 2026
3. Returned ballots will be counted by Friday 9 January 2026

The results of the election will be announced at the Association's Annual General Meeting on Thursday 15 January 2026.
