EU renews two GMO traits and authorises maize trait
Today, 3rd July, please note the EU Commission published implementing Decision 2026/1417 authorising the placing on the market of food and feed products produced from, products consisting of or containing genetically modified maize trait NK603 × T25 and also Decision 2026/1419 soybean MON 87705. The EU also published Decision 1443/2026 authorising the placing on the market GMO maize trait DP202216 x NK603 x DAS-40278-9 and its sub-combinations DP202216 x NK603, DP202216 x DAS-40278-9.
These GMO traits will be valid for ten years and the applications apply to imports for food, feed and processing but not "for cultivation".
Decisions shall apply for a period of 10 years from the date of its notification.
