For your information, the Commission Implementing Regulation extending the approval periods of aluminum phosphide, magnesium phosphide and zinc phosphide was published yesterday in the Official Journal of the EU. Please find it attached to this email.
Please note that the extensions do not reflect a definitive decision on renewal.
- Aluminium phosphide and magnesium phosphide: The rapporteur Member State submitted the draft renewal assessment report to EFSA on 14 April 2023. EFSA expects to finalise its conclusion by the end of December 2027. Allowing time for the Commission’s decision, the approvals are extended by 26 months, until 31 January 2029.
Zinc phosphide: The rapporteur Member State has not yet finalised its risk assessment and expects to submit the draft renewal assessment report in December 2027. As additional time is necessary to complete the remaining steps in the renewal procedure, the approval is extended by 41 months, until 31 May 2030.
