This module will explore how P&I Clubs operate, their legal and financial frameworks, the scope of their coverage, and their role in managing maritime risk.

By the end of this module, the learner should be able to:

• Explain what a P&I club is and discuss how and why P&I clubs developed.
• Understand the rules and principles that govern P&I clubs, including activities covered and the exclusions.
• Discuss the claim handling process.
• Analyse the relationship between P&I clubs and Inter-Club Agreements and Letters of Undertaking.
